We are at the very start. Here is an honest picture of what that means for anyone thinking about working with us.
Voluntary roles
Every role at Peace and Humanity Welfare Organization is currently voluntary, and we say so plainly rather than advertise salaried positions. Our programmes open in stages, and paid roles will be advertised here as they are created.
When funded programmes begin, some roles will need paid staff: trainers, a programme coordinator, a finance and records officer. Those vacancies will be posted on this page, with the salary range stated in the advertisement.
What is genuinely available now
Volunteering
This is where almost everyone starts with us, and right now it is the most useful thing anyone can offer. We particularly need people who can teach, who have medical training, who can run digital and freelancing sessions, and who are willing to do the unglamorous coordination work that makes a camp or a class actually happen.
Internships
We welcome students and recent graduates from across Sindh and the rest of Pakistan, including those training through bodies such as the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, who want practical experience in community development, programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, or communications. An internship with us in this period means genuine responsibility, because there is no layer of staff above you to absorb the work.
What we can offer: a real project to own, a reference letter that describes what you actually did, and honest supervision. What we cannot offer: a stipend, at least until programme funding is in place. We will say so clearly rather than let anyone assume otherwise.

Professional and pro bono support
Doctors, teachers, lawyers, accountants, engineers, trainers and designers who can give occasional time are valuable to us in a way that is hard to overstate. If that is you, please get in touch through the Partner With Us page.
How we treat people who work with us
- Nobody is asked to pay anything to volunteer, intern or apply. If someone claiming to represent PHWO asks you for money for a position, that is fraud and we want to know about it.
- Selection is on merit and need, without regard to sect, ethnicity, gender or political affiliation. Our constitution requires us to be non-political and non-sectarian, and that applies internally too.
- Anyone working with children is subject to our Child Protection Policy.
- Anyone can raise a concern about how they have been treated through our complaints and feedback channel, including anonymously.
What Working Here Is Like Right Now
Be clear-eyed about the stage we are at. PHWO is registered in Larkana, Sindh, and works for families across Pakistan. Registration under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961 is in process, and our programmes open in stages. That means most of what is available today is volunteer work rather than salaried employment, and the people doing it are building systems, writing procedures and preparing programmes rather than running them.
If you want a post that already exists with a salary attached, we are not there yet, and we would rather say so than waste your time. If you want to help shape how an organisation works before its habits harden, this is the useful moment to arrive.
Who We Particularly Need
- Teachers and trainers — for literacy work and for the digital and freelancing skills programme.
- Doctors, dentists, nurses and paramedics — for medical camps and the referral path that has to exist after them.
- Women trainers — vocational and enterprise training for women is difficult to run without women delivering it.
- Accountants and auditors — donor money is easier to account for from the first rupee than from the thousandth.
- Lawyers — registration, compliance and helping households with identity documents.
- Writers, photographers and social media help — on the understanding that we do not publish beneficiary photographs or personal details to raise money.
How to Apply
There is no application portal. Write to us through the contact page or apply through volunteering, and tell us your profession or field of study, where you are based, and how much time you can realistically give. A short, honest note about your availability is more useful to us than a long CV. Recruitment, when paid posts do exist, will follow the equal-opportunity and safeguarding commitments described in our child protection policy and our governance page.
How Your Application Is Handled
Your CV and covering letter are stored privately on our own server, outside the part of the website anyone can browse, and are opened only by the people reviewing applications. We do not pass them to anyone else. We read every application ourselves and reply either way — because we are a small volunteer team that can take two to three weeks, and if you have not heard from us by then you are welcome to write and ask.
By default we delete your application once it closes. If you tick the box at the end of the form, we will instead keep it on file for twelve months and contact you about other openings. You can ask us to erase your details at any time by writing to our office, and we will do it.
