Need a lawyer but cannot pay? Our volunteer advocates read your case free. It does not matter if a case is already running or you want to start a new one — you do not need an FIR. 3 short steps, about 3 minutes. Custody and urgent hearings are read first.
Who this is for
Anyone in Pakistan who needs a lawyer and cannot pay for one: people named in an FIR, people held by police or in jail awaiting bail, families facing an illegal eviction or an inheritance dispute, women seeking khula or maintenance, workers owed their wages. You can apply for yourself, or for a family member who is in custody and cannot apply themselves.
What our advocates can do
Every case is read by one of our volunteer advocates. Depending on the case, the court and their availability, they may represent you, give you written advice on what to do next, or point you to another source of free legal help. We aim to tell you which. No lawyer can promise the outcome of a case, and we do not: only a court decides guilt, innocence, bail or release.

Legal aid from PHWO is free. No one acting for PHWO will ever ask you for money, and no one can “arrange” a bail, a release or a favourable result for a payment. If anyone approaches you claiming they can, in our name or anyone else’s, refuse and tell us immediately at info@phwo.org.
What you tell us is confidential. It is shared only with the advocate handling your case and is never published.
Other free legal help
Free legal advice is also available by phone from the Ministry of Human Rights helpline, 1099. District bar associations run free legal aid committees for people who cannot afford a lawyer, and you can ask at your district court. In an emergency, call Police 15 or Rescue 1122.
