Privacy Policy
Peace and Humanity Welfare Organization (PHWO) respects the privacy of everyone who contacts us, donates to us, volunteers with us or receives our assistance. This policy explains in plain language what information we collect, why we collect it, how we keep it and what rights you have.
This policy applies to phwo.org and to information we handle at our registered office at H. No. 704/C, Near Govt. Girls High School, Lahori Muhalla, Larkana, Sindh, Pakistan. Use of the website itself is governed by our Terms of Use.
Who We Are
PHWO is a non-political, non-sectarian voluntary social welfare organization serving families across Pakistan, with its registered office in Larkana, Sindh. Registration under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961 is in process. For any question about this policy, get in touch at info@phwo.org.
Information We Collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, phone number, city or address, and the content of your message.
- Donation and pledge details: the amount, the payment method used, the transaction or reference number, the date, any restriction you place on the gift under our Donation Policy, and whether it is Zakat. We record what we need to verify the payment against our bank records and issue a receipt.
- Volunteer and membership details: profession or field of study, availability, relevant experience, and for membership applications proof of identity and residence as required by our constitution.
- Beneficiary details collected during needs assessment, programme enrolment, medical camps and relief distribution, which may include household composition, circumstances and, in the case of medical camps, health information.
- Website information: basic technical data such as pages visited and approximate location, collected through standard web analytics to understand how the site is used.
We do not ask for your card details, banking passwords, PINs or one-time codes, and no one from PHWO will ever request them. Our donation channels are manual, and payments are made directly through your own bank or wallet.
Why We Collect It
- To verify donations against our bank records and issue receipts.
- To maintain the books of accounts and statutory registers required by our constitution and by the 1961 Ordinance.
- To assess eligibility for assistance and to record what assistance was given, to whom and when.
- To process volunteer and membership applications and to keep volunteers briefed.
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To keep supporters informed about our work, where you have agreed to receive updates.
- To monitor and evaluate our programmes and to prepare aggregate reports.
- To meet legal, regulatory and reporting obligations in Pakistan.
Beneficiary Privacy
People who receive our help are often at their most vulnerable, and we treat their information accordingly.
- Beneficiary records are kept confidential and used only for programme delivery, verification and aggregate reporting.
- Health information from medical camps is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to third parties without consent, except where required by law.
- We do not publish a beneficiary’s name, photograph, video or personal circumstances without their informed consent, freely given and never as a condition of receiving assistance.
- For children, consent must come from a parent or guardian, and our Child Protection Policy applies in full.
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and we will stop using the material in future publications.
Donor Anonymity
Donors may choose to remain anonymous. We will not publish any donor’s name without written consent. We do not sell, rent, trade or share donor lists with any third party for their own use, and the wider commitments this sits within are on our transparency page.
Rishta Desk
The Rishta Desk collects more sensitive information than any other part of this site, and it is handled differently. PHWO has no verification team and no matchmaking staff: identity checks and match suggestions are produced end to end by an automated (AI) system, and both families are informed automatically. PHWO makes no decision about any person or family, vouches for nobody, and gives no guarantee of any kind. After an introduction the two families check each other by their own enquiries — character, family, health, income, property, background — exactly as with any other rishta, and every decision is theirs alone. PHWO is a free welfare platform and charges nothing for any part of this. Every faith in Pakistan may register, and matches are proposed inside the family’s own faith unless the family asks otherwise.
Automated processing. Identity captures and registration answers are processed by an automated (AI) verification system, and verified records are compared by the same system to suggest matches. For matching, records are pseudonymised first: names, contact details, document numbers and images are never sent. Only the verification result and the match suggestions are stored; the system informs both families automatically when it finds a match. PHWO staff do not review or confirm individual matches — they open a record only to administer the desk, handle a complaint or delete it on request. You may ask us at any time for a human review of any automated result. Introductions happen in a private channel on this website that PHWO opens, can pause or close at any time, and can read; contact details cannot be exchanged in it, and repeated attempts lock that family out of the channel.
What we collect. The details entered on the registration form; up to three photographs and an optional short video; live camera captures of the front and back of an identity document, a live selfie and a five-second liveness clip; and the identity-document number. Photographs and captures are re-encoded on receipt so that camera metadata, including the location where they were taken, is removed.
How it is protected. Nothing from a registration is published, listed, searchable or visible to any visitor, at any stage. Files are stored outside the website’s public folders and can be opened only by a signed-in PHWO staff member who has been given the specific permission for this desk, through a link that is checked each time. The identity-document number is stored encrypted and is readable only inside the staff screen. Every time a staff member opens an identity document, selfie or liveness clip, the access is recorded with the staff member’s name and the time. Records are held on a server under PHWO’s control and backed up in encrypted form.
Who sees it. PHWO staff with permission for the desk, and no one else. Another family sees a photograph or any identifying detail only after you have been asked and have agreed, and even then only what you agreed to share. If PHWO uses an automated tool to carry out a task — for example to help read a document or to shortlist possible matches — the tool is given only what that task needs: identity checks receive the document captures and selfie; match shortlisting receives no names, photographs, contact details, document numbers or addresses. Families make every decision about a match; PHWO does not decide for them.
How long we keep it. For as long as the registration is active, and no longer than is needed to close it. You may ask for a registration and all its files to be deleted at any time, by replying to your confirmation email or contacting us with your reference number, and we will do so. A note that a record existed and was deleted, without the record’s contents, may be kept for accountability.
Age. The desk registers people aged eighteen and over only. A registration for a younger person is refused and not stored.
Who We Share Information With
We share personal information only where it is necessary:
- with our banks and payment channels, to the extent needed to verify a payment you have made;
- with programme partners, doctors, trainers or institutions delivering a programme, limited to what they need to deliver it;
- with government departments and regulators where we are legally required to report, or where reporting is a condition of a grant, in which case we use aggregate data wherever possible;
- with a donor or grant funder, in the form of aggregate reporting rather than identifiable personal details, unless the individual has consented.
How We Keep Information
Records are kept at our registered office and in secured digital systems accessible only to those who need them. Access to donor and beneficiary records is limited to authorised office bearers, staff and volunteers, all of whom are required to keep the information confidential.
Financial and statutory records are retained for as long as required by law and by our constitution. Programme and beneficiary records are retained for as long as needed for monitoring, evaluation and reporting, after which they are securely disposed of or anonymised.
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will inform you and take corrective action.
Cookies and Analytics
phwo.org uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then function less well.

Our website may link to other sites, including banks and payment providers. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to read their policies.

We may update this policy as our work develops and as our obligations change following registration. The current version is always published on this page.
