Dera Murad Jamali is the main town of Nasirabad, on the flat, canal-fed plain of eastern Balochistan where the province meets Sindh. Its fields of rice and wheat are watered by the Pat Feeder and Kirthar canals, and its summers are among the hottest anywhere in Pakistan. The town is a market for tenant farmers, labourers and traders from villages all around. People who search for an NGO in Dera Murad Jamali are often farm families who lost a crop, households still recovering from the 2022 floods, or labourers struggling with debt and illness.
Nasirabad is not far from Larkana, where Peace and Humanity Welfare Organization (PHWO) has its head office. Even so, that Larkana office is PHWO’s only one: there is no branch, centre, camp or worker in Dera Murad Jamali or elsewhere in Nasirabad. People apply through the website, through Message PHWO in a free PHWO account, or through a volunteer, without paying anything. A volunteer checks every request. Help depends on a need being proven and possible to answer, and even then it is never guaranteed.
A mixed community of four languages
At the 2023 Census Nasirabad District had 563,315 people on 3,387 square kilometres, with households averaging 6.4 members (PBS census table for Balochistan districts). The Dera Murad Jamali sub-division held 265,822 people, about 40 percent of them in the town. Nasirabad is one of Balochistan’s most mixed districts by language: roughly 43 percent speak Balochi at home, 23 percent Brahui, 21 percent Sindhi and 12 percent Saraiki (PBS mother-tongue table).
Any of these languages is fine for your application.
The 2022 floods and after
In the 2022 monsoon, the Nasirabad plain was among the worst-hit areas in Balochistan. Water from torrents and overflowing canals stood over fields and villages for weeks, destroying mud homes, stored grain and the rice crop, and forcing families onto roadsides and embankments (ReliefWeb: Pakistan floods 2022). Rebuilding was often paid for with loans that households are still repaying.
If your household still suffers from flood losses, you can explain it through Request help. Describe what was lost, what has been rebuilt, what you still owe and what you need now. Photos of the house and papers from any government survey help volunteers assess the case.
Tenant farming and debt
Much of Nasirabad’s land is worked by tenants who share the harvest with landowners and often borrow from them or from traders for seed, fertiliser and household needs. If the crop fails, the debt carries over. Canal water sometimes does not reach the tail-end fields, and a season can be lost to shortage as easily as to flood.
Debt relief, monthly ration and a study device are what people most often ask PHWO for across Pakistan. You may also ask for medical costs, school and college fees or rent. Be precise about any loan: the lender, the amount and the reason.
Heat, health and hard work
Summer temperatures in this part of the Kachhi plain can pass 50 degrees Celsius. Labourers in fields, brick kilns and markets risk heatstroke, and the elderly and children suffer too. Waterborne disease is common after floods. Treatment at the district hospital or in Sukkur, Larkana or Quetta means travel costs as well as medicine bills.
Attach prescriptions and hospital slips when asking for medical help. If an earner is too sick to work, say how long this has lasted.

Legal advice for Nasirabad cases
Nasirabad’s district courts are located in Dera Murad Jamali and take civil, criminal and family cases; higher appeals leave for the provincial high court. Tenancy quarrels, water turns, inheritance and household matters such as dower, maintenance, khula and custody are all common.
Through Free legal aid, volunteer lawyers will read your papers and describe the options. An FIR is not needed to ask. Children’s cases and urgent hearings come first. Representation in court is possible in some matters but is never promised. The Nasirabad bar association may also assist people without means.
