Few British cities are as closely tied to Pakistan as Bradford. Families with roots in Mirpur and many other parts of Pakistan have built mosques, businesses and community centres here over several generations, and giving at Ramadan is part of the city’s rhythm. This page is for Bradford donors who want their zakat or Sadaqah to reach families in Pakistan through Peace and Humanity Welfare Organization (PHWO).
PHWO is based in Larkana, Sindh, and has no office or collector in Bradford or anywhere in Yorkshire. You give directly from your own bank account; the families PHWO helps receive its services free of charge.
Giving across generations
Older Bradford families often still send money to relatives in Pakistan. Younger donors, born and raised in the city, may have fewer personal links and want an organisation they can check. Both are welcome. Whichever generation you belong to, the rules for your gift are the same: Zakat is ring-fenced for those entitled to it under Shariah and never meets running costs, while Sadaqah and general gifts go where the need is sharpest.
How to send your gift from Bradford
Choose Zakat, Sadaqah or a general donation on the Donate page, then make an international payment from your UK bank using the account details shown there. Copy them only from that page. Your pounds are converted to rupees by your bank, so check the rate and any fee before sending.
When a relative in Pakistan can help
Many Bradford families have a parent, brother or cousin with a Pakistani bank account. They can send your gift to PHWO’s account from inside Pakistan, which avoids an international payment. Ask them to name you as the donor when they confirm the transfer, so the receipt carries your name and the gift is placed in the fund you chose.
Check before you give
Bradford has many local appeals, and checking any of them is sensible. Look the organisation up, read what it publishes, and never pay into a personal account belonging to a collector. As a Pakistani body, PHWO sits outside the UK registers; how it handles gifts is described on where your money goes, and its registration status on the transparency page.

Want to give something other than money? Ways to give covers equipment, vehicles, waqf and legacies. If you know a family in Pakistan who needs help, they can request help online or ask for free legal aid, both free. You can check what PHWO publishes on transparency, and when you are ready, give through the Donate page.

These independent sources can help you check the facts for yourself. PHWO is not connected with them, and linking to them does not mean they endorse PHWO.

No. PHWO has no collectors or representatives in Bradford. Money should only go from your bank to the details on the Donate page.
Can a relative in Pakistan pay for me?

Does Gift Aid apply if I give from Bradford?
